Global Eye Health Workshop

Thursday: Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Essentials in Low-Resource Settings

This seminar aims to equip ophthalmologists with fundamental knowledge and skills in oculoplastic and orbital pathology, with a focus on case presentations from practitioners working in low-resource environments. The session will address the unique challenges faced in these environments while exploring innovative solutions and future directions in the field.

Friday: Retinal & Macular Diseases : Diagnosis, management & treatment in low resource environments.

Focus on:

  • Principles of contemporary management of retinal and macular diseases in low resource environments, including diabetic retinopathy.
  • Presentation of cases. Discussion of practical management of presented cases followed by panel discussion.

Your facilitator: Dr Sarah Dalton is Chief Medical Advisor and Professional Coach for Capstan Partners. Her other roles include Director of Clinical Engagement at eHealth NSW, Paediatric Emergency Physician and previous President of the Paediatric and Child Health Division of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Sarah has a long-standing interest in understanding what it means to be a “good doctor and leader” and has led many projects through both health system and College leadership roles designed to enable medical practitioners and health care professionals to review and improve their performance. Sarah’s primary interest is in improving the quality and safety of the healthcare sector and she strongly believes in the power of coaching to support healthcare professionals to be their best.

Dr Sarah Dalton has a clinical background as a Paediatric Emergency Physician, and a long history of medical leadership roles including previous President of the Paediatric and Child Health Division of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Sarah has worked in different clinical and managerial roles across NSW over the last 25 years, including several executive leadership roles within NSW Health. Sarah has completed a Fulbright Scholarship in Clinical Leadership and is an experienced executive coach and facilitator who primarily works with healthcare leaders.
